Today I found this beautiful poem on another artist's blog, www.alteredmeditations.blogspot.com . I have no idea who the author is but thought i would share it with you all here. I personally feel that all people who create,including children,novice artists/makers,everyone who makes a song,play,film,poem,novel,sculpture,garment etc.. will identify with at least one verse of this poem.

The Artists Creed
I believe I am worth the time it takes to create whatever I feel to create.
I believe my work is worthy of it's own space which is worthy of the name Sacred.
I believe that when I enter this space, I have the right to work in silence,uninterrupted for as long as I choose.
I believe that the moment I open myself to the gifts of The Muse,I open myself to the source of all creation and become one with the Mother of Life itself.
I believe that my work is Joyful,Useful and Constantly Changing,flowing like a river wiith no beginning and no end.
I believe that what it is I am called to do will make itself known when I have made myself ready.

Finding your Muse: A FREE! Online Mini Class by Alisa Burke
Hi all! Just a real quick post about a beautiful free Online inspiration class that I found online. I Love! Alisa Burke's blog and while I was waiting for my partner to get ready this morning, i took a long overdue visit and found a free class she is giving as a thankyou to all her blog followers/visitors/supporters.
The theme and name of the class is Finding your muse, which is all about switiching off the internet and going outside and finding what truly inspires you, as well
as looking into your life for inspiration and ideas to create art.

The Beautiful Fantasy of Lindsay Cheesewright aka FaerieMajikk
While getting to grips with my new etsy shop http://opalorchid.etsy.com/ which is titled House of SpiritFlower (opalorchid is my username and becomes your shop name,but that will change soon.)
I came across loads of amazing crafters and artists sharing advice in the etsy forums a fantastic resource for knowing more about how to run your shop and was drawn to Lindsay's avatar and so checked out her shop.

LindsayCheesewright was born in Katoomba NSW Australia and is a married mother of four.Lindsay always drew having come from a creative family.She was inspired by fantasty art after the gift of a poster featuring a unicorn.For Lindsay creating fantasy art is a addiction and means more to her than just the imagery of faeries and magical beings.She is intrigued by the innocence of a child how to the them if they saw a man flying,then they would accept it whereas us adults would be looking for cables and wires to disprove it.Lindsay wants her art to create a place where anything is possiable and belief can be suspended so that we all can share the innocence,acceptance of magic like a child.
Lindsays art uses watercolours,acrylics,pencils and alot of imagination,care and originality.She sells both original paintings starting from £100 to prints from £20 depending on the size as well as very affordable small prints the size of large businesscards from £3.50 which can be bought singly or as highly collectable sets (i,ve already earmarked a few i really want to buy for my home!)
Lindsay has also recently started creating roll on perfume oils which contain jojoba and are packaged with a print of her artwork on the container.(another must have purchase.)So smell beautiful and have a piece of art to carry around with you.

Inspirations of tattered finery
Here is a taste of some of the things inspiring me for my a/w 2011/12 Collection. It's going to be called
Lost and Found.
Here is a selection of images from designers who use vintage and found objects,recycled clothing,accessories and bits and pieces to make gorgeous garments and accessories.
First up Selene Gibbious of http://www.gibbiousfashions.com/
Selene both models in the photos along with her very creative friends as well as takes the photos and is one of the designers in the collective. Selene uses materials such as vintage silk slips,lace,corsets,girdles and fabric scraps from vintage coats,clothing and tees.Some of these she uses as the base for new coats and skirts.She also adds unusual details such as a glove as in the top image which doubles as a pocket.
Bits of broken jewellery and old keys are also sewn on.

Selene also does a alteration,custom and make-over service all for reasonable prices.All her pieces are gorgeous one off originals.
Designs by Bonzie http://www.bonziedesigns.com/ Based in Waterford Ireland this Aunt and Niece duo make corsets,collars.cuffs,coats.fascinators and more in their unique style.Using Irish Linens,Tweeds,Silks, sometimes hand dyed.They embellish the pieces with jewellery,Pearls and handmade flowers made from velvets,tulles and silk.They now have a stunning must visit workshop in Waterford Ireland a image of which is below.Do visit their site,blog and flicker accounts for a slice of Irish Couture.
So those are a few of the labels who's look i am aiming to channel in my own collection.I will be using vintage and antique beads,trims and fabrics cutting up secound hand clothing and hand dying and ageing fabrics.As well as layering textures smooth with torn,lace with tulle and jersey yarn with embroidery,pearls and silk.
As usual i,ll be using semi precious stones and old buttons sourced from Portobello market.
Look out for images of the collection in progress from June 2011.

The work of Australian artist Penny. Welcome to House of Spirit Flowers Blog
Welcome one and all to House of SpiritFlower's blog.
I decided to create a seperate place to record the highs,lows,tears,tantrums and laughter that goes on behind the seams here and give all who visit a warts and all picture of what I do.
As I go along i,ll add more gadgets and fun things for you all to interact with,videos and audio,slide shows and you,ll have plenty of opportunity to comment and find favorite posts and info.
I,ll also post links to my favorite blogs and sites that i hope will become a inspirational resource to the crafty and creative among you.
Any ideas for content or questions you want to ask about being a creative feel free to ask and i,ll write a post about it!
